I enjoyed reading your page. Just last week I found some pictures in the US Library of Congress web page.  During the push to build merchant ships the Todd shipbuilding of Portland Maine launched five ocean class, one liberty class, and two destroyers all on the same day. The two pictures enclosed are of launching 16 August 1942. What is the real kicker is the fact two years before the ship yard had six employees, and no shipyard. Two years latter they had 26,000 people.

Amazing when you think about the planning put into it.
